Founding Council

BEN’s Founding Council provides organizational guidance, industry perspective and long-term stewardship as the network grows across Texas. Council members protect BEN’s engineer-first mission and help ensure every decision continues to serve the real needs of building engineers.

Misty Majka began her career in 2000 with a local distributor in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where she was introduced to the commercial facilities industry and began building relationships with the engineers and property professionals who would shape her career. In 2003, she founded Harper Supply and built the company around serving commercial facilities and working directly with building engineers.

More than two decades later, those relationships became the foundation for the Building Engineer Network of Texas. Misty created BEN with a simple belief: building engineers deserve a professional community built around their careers, development and the value they bring to the commercial real estate industry.

Outside of work, Misty is happiest outdoors - fishing, taking on a MudGirl run or finding a reason to put her Jeep in four-wheel drive. At home, she is proudly outnumbered by her two Boston terriers, who are thoroughly convinced they run the place.

Alix Spratley is a commercial business-development professional known for building strong relationships, creating meaningful connections and bringing people together throughout Houston’s commercial real estate community.

With a relationship-first approach to business, Alix is passionate about connecting professionals with valuable resources, expanding opportunities and developing lasting partnerships.

In addition to serving on the Building Engineer Network of Texas Founding Council, Alix is the founder of Girls Who Golf, a professional networking community created to help women build confidence, strengthen relationships and create new opportunities both on and off the golf course.

Kaci Hancock brings more than 25 years of experience in commercial real estate, beginning her career in property management before transitioning into exterior property maintenance and business development.

Having worked on both sides of the table, Kaci understands the importance of strong partnerships between property managers, building engineers and the service providers who support them.

She is passionate about giving back to an industry that has played an important role in her career and is committed to supporting building engineers through education, networking, mentorship and professional-development opportunities.
